Itinerary
Following the footsteps of the Holy Family during their life in Egypt, we will visit sites where they were sheltered. Mary herself is appearing at some of these sites during this 2000th anniversary of their life in Egypt.
We will visit Wadi el Natrun, Matariya (Mary’s tree), Zeitoun (church of the Apparitions), St. Michael’s (recent apparitions on the roof), Mohammed Ali Mosque, Cairo Museum, Great Pyramids, Old Cairo Coptic sites, Maadi where the Holy Family departed south by boat on the Nile, St. Mary’s in Haret Zuweila (priests from Ethiopia come here once a year to draw the water blessed by the Christ child from the convent well).
We will then go south to Assiut. We will stay at a monastery near the church of the apparitions. The cave at the monaster housed the Holy Family until the angel instructed them to return to Isreal. Frequent visions of Mary occur here.
----------------------
The Virgin Mary has been appearing at sites throughout Egypt that are built over the homes where the Holy Family lived during their residence in Egypt. We will follow their path and visit the churches where Mary is revisiting and doing her healing work. We will also see the ancient temples of Egypt as we travel.
